Background about the DCG Internet Data Center
Our high security building is located at 1200 W Seventh Street in downtown Los Angeles. It has four huge diesel generators and a fuel supply designed to run for 32 days in the event of a total power outage. In exchange for priority power during emergencies from the Los Angeles Department of Water and Power, our generators provide emergency power to nearby St. Vincent's Medical Center and the City of Los Angeles fire departments. It was built in 1983 for a cost of $350 million by First Interstate Bank. At the time, it was the third largest data processing center in the country, processing $90 million in checks each day for 13 western states. Besides housing data centers, the building also stores gold bouillon in the floors below the data centers.
