Cool Stuff – MacBook Air’s Latest and Greatest
Apple has updated its MacBook Air 13-inch, deemed "the ultimate everyday notebook," with the latest Intel processors and graphics, as well as faster flash storage. And even better: it's now $100 cheaper than it used to be, now sporting a $1,199 price tag.
The MacBook Air 13-inch still has 4GB of system memory, yet is upgraded from the Sandy Bridge processor to the beefier Ivy Bridge processor. There are also other new features, like USB 3.0 ports and the potential upgrade to OS X Mountain Lion. MacBook Airs that are less than a year old can skip this generation because the Ivy Bridge processor is only slightly better than the last generation. However any older MacBooks with a Core 2 Duo or Quad processor need the upgrade.
The new MacBook Air is still physically the same as the previous model, with the same wedge-shaped chassis, 2.85 pound weight, and 13.3-inch widescreen display with its bright and clear 1,440-by-900 resolution.
