Is your poor cell service (aka low- to- no bars) at home keeping you from getting rid of your landline? If so, good news: Your iPhone 6 has a built-in solution.

Instead of relying on cell towers (the culprit to poor cell service), the iPhone 6’s “WiFi calling” feature employs your home Internet to make calls and send texts, allowing your phone to call and text to and from places outside of the cell service’s radius while saving you on monthly minutes.

Unfortunately, Verizon and AT&T have yet to implement this benefit, but T-Mobile and Sprint have adopted the WiFi calling early, because they are the less reliable networks. T-Mobile gives users a “plug and play” hot spot that is very high quality. Word on the street is that Verizon and AT&T plan to catch up eventually — they expect to have WiFi calling available this summer.
